Jock is set in the Kruger
National Park, which is 2 million hectare and 20 000 m.
Very few of the animals have been relocated, except the Rhino,
of which there are quite a few. The white Rhino population is up
to ± 5000. They have been re-introduced in 1961 and they
adapted very successfully because of the terrain, the habitat is
perfect for these animals.
The Kruger National Park is divided into 22 sections and Jock was
part of one of the 80 000 ha sections.
The Section Rangers were responsible for the veld and game in their
area. With the concessions, certain areas were identified as not
being utilized by the general public as these were pure wilderness
areas, it was inaccessible as there were no roads. |
